Open Veins of Latin America -The Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent

Just look around and observe the wreck and pillage of our civilization, crumbling and in shambles and all in the shadows of the castles built by the billionaires and oligarchs, the new masters of our Universe. It seems as if the whole world has gone mad and there is a relentless thirst for human blood. The so-called big powers steal and have always stolen the natural resources from the weak nations and the curse of minerals and natural gifts has rendered the colonized nations as a heap of trash. Multinationals now rule the world and control the destinies of the masses across the world. These conglomerates control the decision-makers of their respective nations who in turn create policies conducive to the control of these behemoths. Africa, Asia, and Latin America have been suffering for too long and nothing seems to alleviate their pain.

Politicians and rulers in the third world are created as demigods, marketed as saviors and after some time these heroes are dethroned through selected media trials and converted into demons. It’s the same playbook, same script and direction and yet we never learn.

Going through this book had been heart-wrenching and realizing that the pain inflicted across Latin America resonates with regions across the so-called third world felt like a stab from a blunt weapon.
