Being from Cameroon, I left my country in 2010 looking for new opportunities and moved to Qatar. Living in Doha I learned lots of things from so many different people and situations. One thing for sure is life can change within 5 seconds.
I was able to secure a role working in Qatar, I was young, naïve, living away from family and not always the most mature. I made mistakes which led to me having to leave my role in Doha. I was disappointed in myself — I came from Africa to GCC, to support my family and make a better life for my mother as my father had already passed away. But I made a bad choice and suffered the consequences. When things go well, humans do not always appreciate what you have — until you have lost it.
