I met Benyezzar Youcef last week at the World of Coffee Conference in Dubai and we immediately connected. He is a great creative with the camera and me a collector of stories; a couple of anecdotes here and there and I got to hear his story:

Hi, my name is Youcef, I’m a filmmaker from Algeria, I’ve been working in this field for around 4 years in my home country, but I always felt like I wanted to do more, I felt like I COULD do more, so it has always been my goal to leave Algeria and explore the world for bigger opportunities.
I kept delaying that, mainly of a long-term relationship I had, but that changed, as I decided to come to Dubai just for a tourist visit, and maybe get one or two freelance gigs while I’m there.
As soon as I arrived in Dubai, problems started and I realised that I’ve been held back by something that isn’t worth it, so I decided to look for opportunities in Dubai, and maybe stay here for a while, and that’s when I started to look for opportunities, at the same time I was going through one of the hardest periods in my life, important choices to make, important things to give up on.
